Tong Shu 通書 Daily Almanac: 2026-08-24 — 开 Day | iGeomancy

Opening

Today, 2026-08-24 (Lunar 2026/7/12), is a paramount 开 (Opening) day per Tong Shu, universally auspicious for all new beginnings. The Day Pillar 庚午 (Metal Horse) aligns with the Jianchu God 开, making it optimal for launching ventures, securing contracts, and initiating transformative projects. As a Yang Metal day, it demands disciplined action—avoid all endings, especially funerals or burial preparations. For Singaporeans, this is the ideal day to finalize your HDB renovation permits (修造), launch your new hawker stall (开市), or commence your business expansion at Raffles Place (上任). Do not schedule any litigation (诉讼) or cemetery visits today; instead, channel this energy into proactive, forward-moving activities that align with the Metal element’s precision and strength.

Today’s Day Pillar 今日日柱

庚午 — Metal Horse day. The Day Stem 庚 (Yang Metal) represents discipline, clarity, and decisive action. As the Day Master, it is strong on this day, yet the Day Branch 午 (Fire Horse) carries self-punishment energy (warning: guard against self-sabotage in negotiations or project launches). Hidden stems reveal 午 contains 丁 Fire (main) and 己 Earth (mid), creating a dynamic where Metal (庚) disciplines Fire (丁) and Earth (己) is nurtured. The Year Pillar 丙午 (Fire Horse) and Month Pillar 丙申 (Fire Monkey) intensify the Fire element, making today’s Metal energy particularly effective for cutting through obstacles and establishing authority. This creates a powerful synergy for career advancement (正官), but requires careful channeling of Fire’s volatility. The Nine Star Ki 六白金开阳 (Six White Metal Kaiyang) further amplifies Metal’s strength, making this day ideal for strategic decisions, financial settlements (正财), and creative problem-solving in the CBD or startup environments. Remember: Metal’s power is most effective when applied with precision, not force.

建除神 Jianchu Guide — 开 (重新开展的好日子。 宜：祭祀、祈福、开光、入宅、嫁娶、上任、修造、动土、开市、安床、交易、出行、竖柱。 忌：诉讼、安葬。)

开 day is the ultimate catalyst for fresh starts, making it exceptionally auspicious for all new ventures. In Singaporean terms, this is the ideal day to secure your HDB flat’s new lease (入宅), open your new coffee shop in Tiong Bahru (开市), or finalize your business partnership at Marina Bay Sands (上任). For weddings (嫁娶), it ensures a harmonious union blessed by celestial energy—avoid this day for funerals or burial (安葬), as it would disrupt the day’s positive momentum. Do not file lawsuits (诉讼) or plan cemetery visits; instead, use this energy to launch projects, schedule property viewings, or sign contracts. The day’s Metal energy thrives on structure, so prepare all documents meticulously. For hawker centre owners, this is prime time to introduce new dishes (开光) or rearrange stalls (动土). Remember: Openings today must be intentional; avoid impulsive decisions that lack foundation.

今日风水方位 Feng Shui Directions for Today

Today’s Metal element favors West (270°) and Northwest (315°) compass directions. Activate your HDB flat by positioning your desk or dining table in the West (e.g., facing the Singapore River) to attract opportunities. Wear white or silver (Metal colors) to harmonize with the day’s energy—ideal for office wear at UOB Plaza. Place a small white quartz crystal on your desk to enhance Metal’s precision. Avoid East (Green) or Southeast (Wood) directions today, as they clash with Metal. For hawker centre owners, orient your stall towards West to boost sales. Remember: Metal’s strength is in clarity—so keep your workspace organized to maximize this energy.

今日宜忌总览 Activity Guide — Do and Avoid

AUSPICIOUS TODAY (Do):

• Opening Businesses: Launch your new café in Katong (开市) or secure your HDB renovation permit (修造) during ⭐ hours. Metal’s strength ensures smooth execution.
• Weddings: The 开 day guarantees harmonious unions—ideal for ceremonies at Raffles City. Avoid funerals as they disrupt Metal’s momentum.
• Travel & Education: Use 申时 (15:00–17:00) for relocation planning or exam prep (文昌贵人 peaks at 21:00).
• Financial Deals: Sign contracts during ⭐ 酉时 (17:00–19:00) for Direct Wealth (正财) success.

AVOID TODAY (Don’t):

• Funerals & Burial: 安葬 is strictly forbidden—Metal’s energy cannot support endings.
• Legal Actions: Avoid litigation (诉讼) as Seven Killings (七杀) energy fuels conflict.
• Impulsive Decisions: Do not sign contracts in ⚠ hours (巳时, 未时) or during Void Branches (戌亥).
• Competitive Negotiations: Yang Blade (羊刃) at 酉 time sharpens decisiveness but risks aggression—avoid confrontational talks.

Why? Metal’s precision requires structure. Opening activities align with its energy, while endings (funerals) disrupt its momentum. Financial deals succeed when timed with Direct Wealth (正财), but fail if rushed (e.g., in 劫财 hours). For Singaporeans: Skipping a wedding ceremony to avoid ‘inauspicious’ timing would be a grave error—this day is built for unions.
