Geomancy Consultation in Singapore: What Happens and How to Prepare

A geomancy (feng shui) consultation in Singapore measures your home or office with a luo pan compass, builds its Flying Star chart for the building’s period, and gives you a written plan for room use, furniture placement and remedies. Preparing your floor plan, the building’s completion (TOP) year and your household’s birth dates makes the visit far more useful.

What is a geomancy consultation?

Geomancy (風水, feng shui) studies how a building’s orientation, layout and surroundings suit the people living or working in it. In the San Yuan Xuan Kong (三元玄空) Flying Star school, the practitioner works out the building’s natal chart from its facing direction and construction period, then layers the current year’s stars on top. We are in Period 9, which runs from 2024 to 2043.

A consultation is guidance for arranging a space. It is not a structural survey, and it does not replace engineering, legal or financial advice.

How do you prepare for a consultation?

Have three things ready: a floor plan, the building’s completion year, and the birth dates of the people who live or work there.

Bring Why it matters
Floor plan (HDB or developer plan, or a sketch with doors and windows) Rooms are mapped onto the nine palaces of the chart
Completion (TOP) year, or the year the space was last fully renovated Sets which period’s chart applies
Birth dates (and times, if known) of household members or key staff Lets the practitioner match rooms and directions to each person
Photos of the entrance, balcony and views outside External features (roads, sharp corners, water) are part of the reading

What happens during the visit?

The practitioner measures the facing direction precisely, inspects the outside and inside, and checks each room against the chart. iGeomancy’s workflow has four steps:

  1. Plan submission: you send the floor plan, property TOP year and birth dates for a preliminary chart.
  2. On-site luo pan audit: exact door degrees are measured, external landforms identified, and indoor layout inspected.
  3. Written action plan: furniture placement, colour palettes and remedies, in a report you keep.
  4. Follow-up: review of photos of the changes you made, with WhatsApp support.

What does a typical report cover?

A useful report ties every recommendation to the chart and tells you what to move, where, and why. Expect:

  • the property’s Flying Star chart, natal and for the current year;
  • the main door, bedroom and study or desk positions;
  • sectors to keep quiet in the current year, such as the Five Yellow (五黄) sector, which sits in the South in 2026;
  • suggested room uses, colours and remedies, with the reasoning stated.

How much does a geomancy consultation cost in Singapore?

Costs depend on the size of the property and whether a personal BaZi reading is included. As listed on iGeomancy’s consultation page on 20 October 2026:

Package For Listed price
Foundation Residential Audit HDB and condominium homes S$388 per property
Growth Commercial & Landed Offices, shops and landed homes S$688 per premises
Sovereign Master Audit On-site audit plus a full personal BaZi reading S$988

Always confirm the scope and price in writing before the visit.

How do you choose a practitioner?

Choose someone who shows you the chart and explains each recommendation, and who does not sell fear or guarantees. Be cautious of predictions of disaster paired with an expensive fix, promises of wealth or health outcomes, or advice to make structural changes without the proper approvals.

Can you start with a self-check?

Yes. iGeomancy’s free Flying Star calculator shows your property’s chart from its facing direction, and the Period 9 HDB analyser gives a first look at a flat. A consultation then checks the measurements on site and turns the chart into a plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between geomancy and feng shui?

In Singapore the terms are often used interchangeably. Both refer to the study of how a space’s orientation and layout suit its occupants.

Do I need to be at home for the consultation?

For an on-site audit, someone should be present to give access to every room, including the main door, balcony and service areas.

Can feng shui fix problems without renovation?

Often, yes. Most recommendations involve room use, furniture placement, colours and simple remedies. Any structural change should follow HDB, building management or URA rules.

How often should I review my home’s feng shui?

The building’s natal chart does not change, but the annual stars move each year, so many people review room use around the start of each year.

Is feng shui a guarantee of results?

No. It is guidance for arranging your space, not a guarantee of health, wealth or relationship outcomes.

iGeomancy consultations are guidance for arranging your space. They are not a guarantee of outcomes or a substitute for professional advice.
